Lord and Taylor Nail Polish Set

lord and taylor nail polish setI received a 5 piece nail polish set by Lord and Taylor from my aunt for Christmas.

To be 100% honest, I was not expecting too much from it.  I have to say though, I was thoroughly impressed.

The formulas are perfect and apply so smoothly.  The color payoff is incredible.  Virtually opaque with just two coats (except for the lightest color).

I have no idea where my aunt picked these up.  The obvious answer would be Lord and Taylor, however, we don’t have one of those in Canada.  I’m assuming she found it at The Bay.

Either way, if you see these, I would suggest picking them up (especially if they are on sale!).

Here are some individual swatches of each.  Unfortunately, they do not have a name or number to indicated what color they are.

IMG_0013The lightest color in the collection is a peach based color.  Definitely not something I would pick up on my own, but was very fond with the results.  It has almost a jelly base to it.  I know it is going to be perfect in the spring and summer months, as well as Easter nail art!

IMG_0014The next color is what I would call a Barbie Pink color.  It has a slight opalesence to it.  Again, perfect for spring and summer manicures.

IMG_0015This is probably my favorite color out of the pack.  It is a light to medium purple with pink undertones and a creme base.  I can’t stop looking at it!!

IMG_0016This is a red color with heavy orange undertones.  Generally I am not a fan of this type of color- it is very similar to a tomato.  However, again, the formula is nice and creamy and goes on smoothly.  Would probably work better with darker skin tones.

IMG_0017Last, but not least, is this “oxblood” creme color.  I know I will wear this a lot in the fall, and will definitely be utilized for Halloween nail art.

Have any of you tried these polishes?  I would love to hear your opinions in the comments below!
